Educator Of The Year
Cherry Creek School District is launching nominations for the 2025–2026 Educator of the Year!
All teachers, special service providers, and licensed non-teaching staff are eligible. Nominations (100 words or fewer) should describe how the educator embodies Cherry Creek’s mission—“To inspire students to think, to learn, to achieve, to care”—and our core values: Growth Mindset, Equity, Whole Wellbeing, Engagement, and Relationships.

6th Grade College Fair
Our 6th Grade AVID College Fair is happening on Thursday, December 11th during the school day. This exciting event allows our students to explore different colleges, learn about higher education, and share their projects with peers and families.

Parents, you are warmly invited to attend. Your child’s teacher will be sending an email with specific details about when you can join us. We encourage you to come and support your child as they present their college research and goals for the future!
Snow Days and Weather Delays
In the event of a weather delay or closure, CCSD will notify parents via the Connect automated message system. CCSD will post the notifications on school websites.

When schools are closed:
- All activities are cancelled.
- Sports events and team practices are postponed.
When schools are on a delayed start:
- Middle school starts 90 minutes late and buses arrive to pick-up locations 90 minutes late.
- Study hall opens at 9:30am and breakfast opens at 10:00am.
- Doors open at 10:10am and classes begin at 10:20am. Students begin their day in 2nd period.
- Dismissal time is the same as usual, 3:45pm.

This week, the Cherry Creek School District will celebrate 75 years and welcome back nearly 53,000 students from preschool through 12th grade. As a top performing school district in Colorado and the nation, CCSD celebrates this historic anniversary and commits to continued excellence for each and every student in the years to come.

The new NSWL Denver state-of-the-art performance center broke ground Monday morning; a one-of-a-kind partnership between Denver NWSL and the Cherry Creek School District. The goal is to help advance women’s youth, amateur, and professional sports in Colorado and support CCSD’s vision of a Pathway of Purpose for every student.

The Cherry Creek Schools Board of Education has named longtime district volunteer, employee, and former board member Janice McDonald as the newest inductee to the Legacy Stadium Educational Leadership Wall of Fame.

The Cherry Creek School District now has their own band and orchestra instrument repair shop. It's located inside Overland High School and repairs instruments for the nearly 25,000 students in band and orchestra in the district.
